New Document eSign pricing: Free, Growth, Business, Ultimate

We rolled out a refreshed set of pricing plans this week. Here is exactly what changed, why we changed it, and what it means for your account.

The short version

  • Our Free plan now includes 30 documents per month. That is still one of the most generous free tiers in e-signing, and it stays free forever.
  • Every paid plan sends unlimited documents. No document counting, no per-document fees, no overage charges.
  • Paid plans no longer cap your team size. Add as many people as you need.
  • There is a new top tier, Ultimate: one flat price for your whole company, including SSO and full whitelabel.

If you only remember one thing, make it this: paid plans are now priced on people, not paperwork. Send one document or a thousand - the bill does not move. Full details are on the pricing page.

Why we put a limit on the Free plan

For a long time our free plan had no sending limit at all. We loved offering that, but it came with a real cost: a small number of accounts used it to blast hundreds of emails a day. That kind of abuse hurts email deliverability for everyone else, including paying customers whose contracts genuinely need to arrive.

So Free now includes 30 documents per month, with a sending speed limit of 10 per day. For context, DocuSign's free account allows 3 signature requests in total before it becomes sign-only, and many free e-signature tools allow only a handful each month. If you send the occasional lease, offer letter, or NDA, you will likely never notice the change.

What happens if you do reach 30? Sending pauses until your monthly cycle resets - nothing is deleted, documents already out for signature complete normally, and signing keeps working. Upgrading lifts the limit on the spot.

Existing free accounts got a fresh counter on day one. Nothing you sent before the change counts against your new monthly limit, and every document you have ever sent or signed stays exactly where it is.

What unlimited actually means

Growth, Business, and Ultimate all send unlimited documents under normal business use. We do not meter your sends or sell document packs, and a busy month costs the same as a quiet one.

Fair-use safety ceilings exist purely to catch spam and runaway automation - they sit far above what any real team sends in a day, and legitimate businesses will not run into them. If you somehow do, one email to support sorts it out.

No paid plan caps your team size anymore.

Ultimate deserves a word. Per-seat pricing punishes exactly the teams that get the most from e-signatures - the ones who roll it out to everyone. A flat price removes that friction: your accountant, your HR team, and your newest intern can all have accounts without anyone doing license arithmetic.

Already a paying customer?

Nothing gets taken away. Early customers keep every feature they have today at their current price, and the removal of seat caps applies to you too. Consider it a thank-you for being here early.
