Are these tools really free, forever?
Yes. No trial clocks, no watermarks, no locked features. They're funded by Document eSign, our e-signature product - some visitors eventually need documents signed and sealed, and that's the business. The tools themselves ask nothing.
How can they be private if they're online?
The page you load contains the whole tool. Your file opens in your browser's memory, gets processed there by JavaScript, and downloads from there - no server ever receives it. You can watch the network tab while using any tool: no request carries your document.
Is there a file size or usage limit?
No imposed one. Because processing is local, the practical ceiling is your device's memory - laptops handle few-hundred-page documents comfortably, phones give out sooner on heavy scans.
What can't these tools do?
Anything needing heavy conversion: PDF to Word, OCR of scans, and strong compression all need server-grade software, and we'd rather not have your files on a server. Password-protected PDFs also need unlocking in their source app first.
Which tool do I want for page problems - split, extract, delete, or organize?
Split breaks a document into parts. Extract pulls specific pages out. Delete removes pages and keeps the rest. Organize does reordering, rotating, and deleting in one pass - reach for it when a scan came back in the wrong shape.
Are documents signed with these tools legally binding?
For most everyday agreements, yes - US law (the ESIGN Act and UETA) recognizes electronic marks made with intent to sign. The signature is an image though, without a cryptographic seal or audit trail; the Sign PDF page explains where that distinction starts to matter.
Do the tools work on phones?
All of them run in any modern mobile browser. Drawing a signature is actually better on a touchscreen; heavy jobs like splitting a 400-page scan are better on a laptop, purely for memory.
