Connect Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive
Link a cloud storage account under Settings > Integrations so you can pull files into the send wizard, and so cloud backup has somewhere to write.
Open Settings > Integrations and click Connect on the row for Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. A popup takes you through that provider's sign-in, and the row comes back reading Connected as with the account address underneath. Every plan can do this, and every role.
What a cloud connection is used for
The send wizard uses it to pull a file in. On the upload step you get four buttons next to the drop zone: Upload, Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive. Picking a file copies it across and leaves the original where it is. Importing a file in the wizard covers that flow on its own.
Cloud backup uses the same connection in the other direction. When an admin turns it on and points it at a provider, their saved connection is the account signed documents get written into. That's the only case where one person's connection affects the whole workspace.
Connect a cloud storage account
-
Open Settings > Integrations. The Cloud storage card lists all three providers.
-
Click Connect on the row you want.

-
Sign in and approve access in the popup that opens. Closing it early cancels the connection and the button resets.
-
Check the row. It should read Connected as followed by the account address, with a Disconnect button where Connect used to be.
If a row reads Not configured on this server. instead, that provider isn't set up for this installation and shows the word unavailable in place of a button.
Import a file with the connection
Start a document from Send, then use the provider button on the upload step rather than the file dialog.

Google Drive is the one that leans on the stored connection. Click it without one and you're sent through sign-in first, then straight into the file picker. Dropbox and OneDrive open their own picker and deal with sign-in themselves, so those two work in the wizard whether or not you have connected them here.
Disconnect a cloud storage account
Click Disconnect on the row. Most of the time it happens immediately, with no confirmation.
The exception is a connection cloud backup is currently using. Then the row reads in use by Cloud Backup, and a dialog headed Disconnect Google Drive? warns that continuing will also turn cloud backup off. The action button reads Disconnect & turn off backup. Files already in your cloud folder stay put. To resume later, reconnect the provider and save the cloud backup settings again. The schedule and folder template are kept for you.
If something goes wrong
- The popup opened and nothing happened. Your browser blocked it, or it was closed before sign-in finished. Allow popups for this site and click Connect again.
- The row still says nothing is connected. The provider sign-in was cancelled. There's no partial state to clean up, so start again.
- The provider shows unavailable. It isn't configured for this installation. Use one of the other two.
- Google Drive asks you to sign in every time you import. The connection was removed, either here or from your Google account security settings. Reconnect from this page once and the picker stops asking.
- Disconnecting broke your backups. That's the behavior the dialog warned about. Reconnect the account, then open cloud backup and save its settings again to switch it back on.
Frequently asked questions
Is a cloud connection shared with the rest of my workspace?
No. Each connection belongs to the person who authorized it, and your colleagues see their own list on the same page. The one shared effect is cloud backup, where an admin's saved connection becomes the account the whole workspace mirrors signed documents into.
What access does the connection ask for?
Read access to the files you pick, described on the page as read-only. Cloud backup writes as well, into the folder named in its own settings. Nothing scans your drive in the background, and the account can be disconnected from this page at any time.
Why does a provider say it is unavailable?
The line reads "Not configured on this server." That provider has not been set up for this installation, so the Connect button is replaced with the word unavailable. Nothing you can change from your side fixes it. The other two providers keep working normally.
Do I have to connect Dropbox before picking a Dropbox file?
No. Dropbox and OneDrive open their own file picker in the send wizard and handle sign-in there. A stored connection matters for Google Drive imports, and for all three providers when an admin points cloud backup at one of them.
