Import from Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive
Pick a file straight from your cloud storage on the first step of the send wizard. The file is copied into Document eSign, not linked.
On the first step of the send wizard, the upload area carries a Google Drive, a Dropbox and a OneDrive button next to Upload. Click one, choose your file in the provider's own picker, and it lands in the file list exactly as a device upload would.
Import a file

Click Send for signature in the top bar to reach Add a document.

Click Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. The button label changes to "Opening Google Drive..." and the other two disable while the picker loads.

Sign in if the provider asks. Google Drive opens a small authorisation popup the first time and remembers the account afterwards. Dropbox and OneDrive sign you in inside their own picker.

Select your file. All three pickers accept more than one file at a time.

Each imported file joins the list under the upload area with its size and a ready status. Add more from another provider or from your device if you want, then click Continue to recipients.

What each picker shows you
Every picker filters to the file types this product can turn into a signable PDF, so a spreadsheet you keep in Drive will not appear in the list.

Google-native files are exported to PDF on the way in, so a Google Doc arrives as a PDF you can place fields on.
Copied, never linked
Picking a file copies its bytes into your workspace once. Nothing stays connected to the original afterwards: rename it, move it or delete it in Drive, and the document you are preparing carries on unchanged. The completed PDF is never written back to the folder you took the file from either, unless you have separately turned on Cloud Backup.
Connect or disconnect an account
Google Drive can also be connected ahead of time from Settings > Integrations, under Cloud storage. Each provider shows Connect, or the connected account address plus Disconnect.
If something goes wrong
- Nothing happened when you clicked. Your browser blocked the popup. Allow popups for this site, then click again.
- "Google Drive isn't configured on this server yet." The workspace has no Drive credentials in place. Upload from your device, or ask your administrator to add them.
- The Drive picker is empty. You are signed in to a different Google account from the one holding the file. Disconnect in Settings > Integrations and connect the right account.
- A cloud button is greyed out. You are already at ten files. Remove one from the list to free a slot.
- The import stops part way through a multi-file pick. Files that already arrived stay in the list, and a red banner names the one that failed. Retry that file on its own.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to connect an account before I can import?
Only for Google Drive. Its picker needs an authorised connection, so the first click opens a Google sign-in popup and the file browser follows once you approve. Dropbox and OneDrive handle sign-in inside their own picker window, so there is nothing to set up beforehand.
Is the file linked or copied?
Copied. Document eSign fetches the bytes once, at the moment you pick, and works on its own copy from then on. Editing the original in Drive or Dropbox afterwards changes nothing in the document you are preparing, and the signed PDF never writes back over the source.
Which file types show up in the picker?
Google Drive lists PDFs, Word files and Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, which are exported to PDF as they import. Dropbox offers PDF and Word only. OneDrive adds PNG and JPG to that set. Anything outside a picker's list is hidden or dimmed.
Where do I disconnect a cloud account?
Open Settings then Integrations and look under Cloud storage. Each provider shows either Connect or the connected account address with a Disconnect button beside it. If that same connection is powering Cloud Backup, a dialog warns you and the confirm button reads Disconnect and turn off backup, since both features run off one connection.
The picker did not open. What now?
Almost always a blocked popup. All three pickers open in a popup window, so allow popups for this site in your browser's address bar and click the button again. A connect attempt that fails part way leaves the Google Drive button ready to retry.
