Add your logo and brand color
Upload a logo and an icon, pick a brand color, and set the name your signers see in their inbox. Every plan gets it; only Ultimate can remove the Document eSign footprint.
Open Settings > Branding, upload a logo, and pick a brand color. From that point every signature-request email your workspace sends carries your logo and your accent color, and so does the cover page of the audit trail PDF.
Who can do this
Workspace admins. The Branding tab does not appear for managers or members. Every plan can set a logo, an icon, a brand color and a sender name; White-label mode, covered further down, is the part that needs Ultimate.
Add your logo and brand color
-
Open Settings > Branding.
-
Under Logo & icon, click Upload logo and choose a PNG, JPEG or SVG up to 2 MB. Wide or square both work, so use whatever matches your letterhead.

-
Watch the Brand color field. Uploading a logo reads its dominant color, fills that in, and saves it straight away, marked with an Auto-detected from your logo chip. If it picked the wrong shade, click Undo inside the chip before it clears itself after six seconds.
-
Click Upload icon and add your square mark. This is the one that renders at small sizes across the app. A monogram usually beats a full wordmark here.
-
Under Brand color & sender name, fine-tune the hex value. The color picker and the text field stay in sync, and the field accepts a six-digit hex like
#1B3A2F.
-
Set Email from-name to whatever should appear as the sender label in your signers' inboxes. It defaults to your workspace name.
-
Click Save branding.
Logo and icon uploads save on their own, and so does a color detected automatically from a logo. Save branding commits only a color or from-name you set yourself, which is why it stays disabled until you change one of those two.
Where your branding shows up
The logo heads every email your recipients receive and sits on the cover page of the audit trail PDF. Your brand color paints the Review & sign button in those emails and the accents on the signing page. The icon is the small square mark: the signing page header prefers it over the wide logo, and the app uses it too.
You can check the result without sending anything. The Preview card at the bottom of the same page renders a real signature-request email as you edit, and previewing branded signer emails walks through what it does and does not cover.
One gap worth knowing: the audit trail PDF embeds raster images only. An SVG logo looks right everywhere else, then quietly falls back to the Document eSign mark on the audit certificate. Upload a PNG if that page matters to you.
Custom branding is not white-label
Custom branding adds your marks. It doesn't remove ours. Your emails still carry a quiet "Powered by Document eSign" line, the signer's finish page still invites them to open their own account, and the address the mail comes from is still ours unless you also send from your own address.
Removing that footprint is White-label mode, an Ultimate feature. The card only appears on the Branding page for workspaces that have it, so there is no locked placeholder to click. Flip the switch and three things change: signer emails, signing pages and the PDF certificate drop every mention of Document eSign; the browser tab title and favicon become your workspace name and icon, or a monogram in your brand color when no icon is uploaded; and the app shows your logo where the platform lockup used to be.
White-label isn't a theme. The app keeps its own palette in light and dark mode, and there's no theme editor. Billing pages, the sign-in screen and the upgrade flow also stay Document eSign branded on purpose, since your subscription is a relationship with us rather than with your signers.
If something goes wrong
- There is no Branding tab in Settings. You are signed in as a manager or a member. Ask an admin, or ask to be made one.
- The upload is rejected. The file is over 2 MB or is not a PNG, JPEG or SVG. Export a smaller copy and retry.
- Your logo looks cropped in the signing header. The header prefers the square icon. Upload an icon that is genuinely square, or remove the icon so the wide logo is used instead.
- Signers still see the Document eSign lockup on their emails. There's no saved logo. The Logo & icon tile shows a placeholder image when the workspace has none.
- White-label mode is on but emails still come from our address. The two settings are separate. Verify a sending address under Settings > Advanced features > Custom email sender.
Frequently asked questions
Which file types can I upload for the logo?
PNG, JPEG and SVG, up to 2 MB each, for both the logo and the icon. Bitmaps are scaled down on upload, to 1024 px on the longest side for a logo and 512 px for an icon. The audit trail PDF embeds raster images only, so an SVG logo falls back to the Document eSign mark there.
Do I have to be on a paid plan to add my logo?
No. The Branding page is open on every plan, and a saved logo, icon, brand color and from-name apply to signer emails and the audit trail PDF straight away. What a paid plan changes is removal, not addition. Only Ultimate can switch on White-label mode and strip the Document eSign footprint.
What is the difference between the logo and the icon?
The logo is your full lockup, wide or square, and it heads the emails your signers receive. The icon is a small square mark that renders at roughly 28 pixels across the app and in the signing page header. Upload both if your wordmark is unreadable when shrunk.
Does my brand color repaint the app?
No. It tints signer-facing surfaces, mainly the call-to-action button in emails and the accents on the signing page and audit PDF cover. The app you work in keeps its own palette in both light and dark mode. There is no theme editor, and none is planned.
Why is the Save branding button greyed out?
Because nothing has changed yet. The button stays disabled until the brand color or from-name differs from what is already saved. Logo and icon uploads are separate, and they save the moment the file finishes uploading, so there is nothing to confirm for those.
