Download your signed copy
Where to get the completed PDF and the audit certificate after you sign, from the thank-you page, the email, or by reopening your link.
When every signer has finished, the thank-you page shows Download signed PDF, and a completion email with the signed PDF and the audit certificate goes to everyone involved. If other people still have to sign, there is nothing to download yet. The email arrives once the last signature is in.
Who can do this
Every signer, no account needed. The sender gets the same files on their document page.
Download your signed copy right after signing
Click Finish signing and you land on a page headed Thanks for signing. What it shows depends on where the document stands:
- You were the last signer. A Download signed PDF button appears under the line "The completed PDF and audit trail have been emailed to every party". It can take a few seconds to show while the signatures are stamped into the PDF, and the page says Finalizing... until then.
- Others still have to sign. "We'll email you the completed PDF once everyone has signed." Close the tab. The email will come.
- You were the only signer. You may briefly see Preparing download links... before the button appears.

If the sender configured a redirect, a small panel counts down "Redirecting to their-site.com in 3s". Click Stay here to stop it and keep the download button in view.
The completion email
Once the document is complete, everyone who signed, plus the sender, receives an email. When the signed PDF and audit certificate together are under 25 MB they come as attachments, named signed.pdf and audit.pdf. Larger documents get download links instead, and those links stop working after 24 hours, so save the files when the email arrives.
Whether audit.pdf is a separate file depends on the sender's audit settings. Some workspaces append the audit pages inside the signed PDF, in which case there is only one file.
Reopening your link later
Your signing link keeps working after the document is complete. Open it and you see Document already signed with two buttons:
- Download signed PDF: the completed, sealed document.
- Audit trail: the audit certificate, when the sender's settings produce a separate one.

If the page instead says "We're waiting on Jane Doe to finish", the document is not complete yet and there is nothing to download. Come back after the email.
Before you sign
Want the document as it stands, before adding your signature? On the signing page open More options and choose Download document. If someone signed before you, their stamped signatures are already in that copy.
If something goes wrong
- No email arrived. Check spam, then open your original signing link. The Document already signed page has the same downloads.
- The download button is missing on the thank-you page. Others still have to sign, or the PDF is still finalizing. Reopen the link in a minute, or wait for the email.
- Expired link in the email. It is older than 24 hours. Use your signing link instead; that download does not expire.
- You need a copy months later and cannot find the email. Search your mailbox for the document name. The signing link in the original request still opens the completed document. Failing that, ask the sender, who keeps the signed PDF and audit certificate on their side.
- You want a paper copy. Print the signed PDF, or ask the sender. The standard electronic record disclosure you agreed to says you can always ask for a paper copy and will not be charged for it.
Frequently asked questions
I signed but there is no download button. Where is my copy?
Other people still have to sign. The thank-you page says the completed PDF will be emailed once everyone has signed, and you cannot download a partially signed version in the meantime. Keep the email with your link. Reopen it after the last signature and the download buttons are there.
How long do the links in the completion email work?
The download links in the email stop working after 24 hours, so save the files when the email arrives. If you miss that window, open your original signing link instead. That page keeps offering Download signed PDF and Audit trail for as long as the sender keeps the document.
Where is the audit certificate?
It depends on the sender's audit settings. Most send it as a separate audit.pdf next to signed.pdf in the completion email and as an Audit trail button when you reopen your link. Some senders append the audit pages inside the signed PDF instead, in which case there is no separate file.
Can I get the unsigned original before I sign?
Yes. On the signing page open More options and choose Download document. You get the PDF as it stands at that moment, which includes the stamped signatures of anyone who signed before you. Nothing you have typed is included until you click Finish signing.
I have an account. Does the document appear there too?
Yes, if the request was sent to the email address on your account. Sign in and open Inbox to find everything sent to you, including completed documents with their downloads. The thank-you page also shows a Go to Dashboard button when you are signed in.
