Reuse a saved signature when signing
Signed in to Document eSign, the signature window opens on a Saved tab with your stored signatures and initials, and your default is already selected.
If you are signed in to Document eSign, clicking a signature field opens the window on the Saved tab with your default already selected. Click Use this signature and move on. Without an account, the last signature you adopted on that browser still comes back with one click.
Who can do this
Anyone with a Document eSign account, on every plan. The Saved tab draws on the signatures stored under your profile, so you need at least one saved before it shows.
Use a saved signature while signing
-
Open the document from the signing link or from Inbox and click Sign now.
-
Click a signature field. The window opens on Saved with your stored signatures in a grid, and the one marked Default is pre-selected.

-
Click a different tile if you want another one, or switch to Draw, Type or Upload for a one-off.
-
Click Use this signature. With Apply to all my signature fields ticked, every signature field of yours on the document fills at once.
Initials fields work the same way and show only saved initials. Stamp fields show saved stamps.
Add a signature to your account
To make a signature part of your account rather than one browser:
-
Go to Settings then Profile and find the Saved signatures card.
-
Click Signature (or Initials or Stamp) at the top right of the card. The same draw, type or upload window opens. Click Save.

-
Your first save of each kind becomes the default automatically. To change that later, click Make default on another tile.
A shortcut lives on the dashboard too: the signature card there shows your default and opens the same window from + Add signature or from Set default signature.
There is no limit on how many you keep. Delete one and you get a Delete this saved item? confirmation first.
What happens next
Every signature field you open from now on, on any device where you are signed in, opens with your default ready. Each use stamps a fresh copy of the image into that document. Changing or deleting the saved signature later does not touch documents already signed.
If something goes wrong
- The window opens on Draw, not Saved. You are not signed in on this browser, or you have nothing saved of this kind. Sign in first, or add one under Settings, then Profile.
- Could not load saved signature. A network hiccup while fetching the image. Click the tile again; if it persists, draw for now and check your connection.
- A signature I never saved appears on the next field with one click. That is the per-browser memory from the previous field. Click the field to open the window and choose something else, and it replaces the remembered one.
- We share a computer. Will a colleague see my signature? No. Saved signatures belong to your account, and the per-browser memory is keyed to the signer's email address, so each person sees only their own. Still, sign out on a shared machine when you are done.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I not see a Saved tab?
The Saved tab only appears when you are signed in to a Document eSign account in the same browser and that account has at least one saved item of that type (signature, initials or stamp). External signers with no account never see it, and initials fields only show saved initials, not saved signatures.
Does a signature I draw while signing get saved to my account?
No. Drawing in the signature window on a document only remembers the image on that browser for that email address. To add a signature to your account so it follows you to every device, add it from Settings, then Profile, under Saved signatures, or from the signature card on the dashboard.
What does Default mean on a saved signature?
The signature marked Default is pre-selected whenever the window opens on the Saved tab, so one click places it. You can hold one default signature, one default initials and one default stamp at a time. Set it with Make default on the Profile page or through the dashboard card.
How does one-click filling work for people without an account?
The signing page remembers the last signature adopted on that browser for the signer's email address. The next signature field on the same document, or on a later document opened on the same device, fills with a single click. It is stored on the device only and clears with the browser data.
