Workspace name, timezone and date format
Set the workspace name your recipients see, plus the timezone, date format and clock style every screen and emailed date uses.
Everything about how your workspace identifies itself and how it prints dates sits on one card at Settings > Organization. Change a value, watch the preview at the bottom, and click Save changes.
Who can do this
Workspace admins. The tab is hidden from Managers and Members, and the settings apply to everyone in the workspace at once.
Set the workspace name and contact details
-
Open Settings > Organization.
-
Edit Workspace name. A note under the field says where it turns up: this is the sender name on the emails your recipients receive, so make it the name a customer would recognize.
-
Fill in Contact email and Phone under Contact if you want them on record. Both are optional, and the phone field takes digits, spaces, brackets, dashes and a leading plus.

-
Click Save changes at the bottom of the card, once the date and time settings below read the way you want them too. The button reports Saved in green for a couple of seconds, then goes quiet until you edit something else. An invalid field keeps it disabled and prints the reason in red underneath.
Choose the timezone and date format
Date & time holds the workspace locale: one timezone, one date format, one clock style, applied to everyone.
- Timezone is a searchable list of every zone. It seeds itself from your browser the first time, which is usually right. A distributed team should set it to wherever the business books its days.
- Time format is 12-hour (2:30 PM) or 24-hour (14:30).
- Date format offers six presets. Each one is labeled with the same sample date, so you read the shape instead of decoding a pattern.
| Preset | Reads as |
|---|---|
| May 4, 2026 | US written style |
| 4 May 2026 | UK and Commonwealth written style |
| 05/04/2026 | US numeric, month first |
| 04/05/2026 | UK and most of the world, day first |
| 04.05.2026 | Dotted European style |
| 2026-05-04 | ISO order, year first |
Below them, a small preview shows a real date and a real date-and-time in the combination you have picked. Use it before saving, particularly when switching between 05/04 and 04/05, which look identical for the first twelve days of any month.

What happens next
Dates redraw across the app on the next load: document lists, activity timestamps, audit trails, reminder schedules and the emails your recipients receive. A Date Signed field placed on a document can still carry its own format when you want one document to read differently, and that choice wins over the workspace default for that field alone.
The billing address, legal name and tax details aren't here. They sit with your invoices on the billing page.
Below the workspace card is Danger zone, and it holds exactly one control: deleting the workspace for good. That's a separate job with its own confirmation, and the card only appears for an admin.
If something goes wrong
- A dropdown looks blank after a page refresh. Pick the value again and save. The stored value was one the current list doesn't offer.
- "Could not save - please reselect the date and time format, then try again." Reopen both format pickers, choose a preset in each, and save.
- Recipients still see the old sender name. Emails already sent keep the name that was current when they went out. New sends pick up the change.
- Timestamps look an hour out twice a year. Zones that observe daylight saving shift with it, which is expected. Pick a fixed offset zone if you'd rather they never move.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the workspace name actually appear?
It is the sender name on every email your recipients receive, so a signing request from a workspace called Acme Corp arrives from Acme Corp rather than from a person. It also labels the workspace in the app switcher and across the settings pages you and your teammates use.
Does changing the timezone move dates on documents already sent?
No date is rewritten. Timestamps are stored as exact moments and only displayed in the workspace timezone, so an existing audit trail keeps its meaning and reads in the new zone from now on. Expiry deadlines already running keep the moment they were set to.
Which date formats can I pick?
Six presets cover the common business conventions - May 4, 2026 and 4 May 2026 for written dates, 05/04/2026 and 04/05/2026 for the US and UK numeric styles, 04.05.2026 for the dotted European style, and 2026-05-04 for ISO order. The preview updates as you choose.
Can a teammate use a different date format from mine?
Not for the workspace itself. One format applies to everyone so a date on a document reads the same to the sender, the signer and anyone reviewing the audit trail later. Individual Date Signed fields can still be given their own format when you place them.
The Save changes button is greyed out. Why?
Nothing has changed yet, or one of the fields has a validation error underneath it. Edit a value and the button wakes up. A red line under the contact email or phone means the format was rejected, and the phone field accepts only digits, spaces, brackets, dashes and a leading plus.
