Choose a plan and start your trial

Every new workspace opens on a 14-day Business trial with no card and no checkout. When the 14 days run out the workspace moves to Free, and the next admin who signs in meets a full-screen plan page where they either buy a plan or click Continue on Free.

Who can do this

Workspace admins. Billing sits with the Admin role alone, so a Manager or Member who signs in after the trial has ended sees a screen headed Your workspace's Business trial has ended with only a Sign out button. Nobody in the workspace gets back into the app until an admin decides.

What the Business trial includes

The trial runs the full Business feature set: bulk send from a CSV, public template links, in-person signing, scheduled send, custom fields, a custom sending domain, IP restrictions and the rest.

Volume is the one exception. A trial workspace sends 30 documents a month, at most 10 in a day, to at most 5 recipients each. Those three figures are the Free plan numbers. Bulk send is the odd one out: Free doesn't include it at all, and the trial hands you a 5-row allowance so you can see how a CSV send behaves before you buy. Every cap lifts the minute you subscribe.

You'll get four emails over the fortnight: a welcome on day one, a check-in at the halfway mark, a warning with three days left, and one when the trial expires. From seven days out, anyone who can manage billing also sees a strip across the top of every page counting down the days left on your Business trial, with a Choose a plan button beside it. Members without that permission never see it. You can dismiss that strip once a day. In the final two days it turns red and stays put.

Choose a plan

1. Click Choose a plan in the trial strip. You can also open Settings > Billing and use the Upgrade plan card there.

2. Pick Billed yearly or Billed monthly with the toggle at the top. Yearly works out up to 25 percent cheaper, 25 percent on Growth and Business and 24 percent on Ultimate.

3. Click Upgrade to Growth, Upgrade to Business or Upgrade to Ultimate. Compare what each one covers in the plan comparison.

   

4. Finish on the checkout page. Payments run through Dodo Payments, our payment provider and merchant of record. Prices are listed in US dollars, and the checkout page converts to your card's currency and works out tax from the billing address you confirm there.

5. You land back on Settings > Billing with a short Activating your plan message while the payment is confirmed, then the new plan name appears on the Current plan card.

   

Continue on Free instead

A quiet Stay on Free row sits under the plan cards. Click Continue on Free and the gate clears, the app opens and your workspace settles on the Free plan: 30 documents a month, 3 saved templates and 1 user.

Choosing Free isn't final. You can buy a plan later from Settings > Billing whenever you need the capacity back.

What happens when the trial ends

Nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden. Your documents, templates, contacts and teammates are all still there, and any signature request already out with a signer carries on running.

What does change is what the workspace can do. Business-only features stop working, sending returns to the Free allowance, and the seat cap drops to one, so you can't invite anyone new until you are on a paid plan. Templates and share links you created above the Free limits stay in place but cannot be added to. There's a plain summary of each of those blocks in what happens at a plan limit.

If something goes wrong

• Every page bounces you back to the plan screen. That's the gate working as intended. It clears as soon as an admin buys a plan or clicks Continue on Free.
• The plan page sends you to the Change your plan page. Your workspace already has a live subscription, so switching tiers runs through proration rather than a fresh checkout. Follow change or upgrade your plan instead.
• The page reads Confirm your plan to keep your subscription active. You were billed by our previous payment provider and that subscription hasn't moved across yet. Enter your card details once more. Your plan, documents and team are untouched.
• The page reads Your plan is managed for you. Your workspace is on a custom plan agreed with us. There's no self-serve price to buy, so use Contact us about your plan on the billing page.
• You paid and the plan still reads Free. The confirmation takes a few seconds to reach us. Reload the billing page once. If a bank in India is confirming the payment by hand, that can run to two working days, and the plan switches on by itself when it clears.
