Create your account
Sign up with Google, Microsoft, or an email and password, then type the 6-digit code we email you to activate your workspace. No card needed.
Open the sign-up page, click Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft, or fill in the email form and click Create workspace. Email sign-ups get a 6-digit code to type back.
Sign-up is free and asks for no card. Your new workspace starts on a 14-day Business trial and drops to the Free plan afterwards unless you pick a plan.
Steps
-
Go to the sign-up page and fill in First name, Last name, Workspace name, Email and Password. The password needs 8 characters or more, with at least one letter and one digit.
-
Click Create workspace.

-
Open the email we sent. It contains a 6-digit code. On the Check your email screen, type it into Confirmation code. The form submits itself when the sixth digit lands. If it does not, click Confirm email.

-
You are signed in.
To use Google or Microsoft instead, click Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft at the top of the same page, approve the request on the provider's screen, and you come back signed in. No code is needed, because the provider has already confirmed your address.
What happens next
The first thing you see is the Set up your workspace dialog. Confirm or rename the workspace and, if you have one, add a logo. The logo shows on every signing page and email you send. Your timezone and clock format are picked up from the browser, so dates already match what you expect. You can change all of this later under Settings > Organization.
After that you are on the dashboard with a Send for signature button in the top bar. Start there, or read Send your first document.
If you signed up with a company email that already belongs to a workspace, the form does not create a new one. Instead you see a card offering to join or request access to that workspace. Join an existing workspace covers each path.
If something goes wrong
- The code has not arrived. Check spam, then click Send a new code.
- "That code isn't right." Re-check the digits. After five wrong tries the code is burned and you see "Too many tries. Request a new code." Send a new one.
- Closed the tab before typing the code? Sign in with the email and password you chose. Signing up a second time with the same address is refused with "That email is already in use."
- "That email is already in use. Try signing in instead." Someone (probably you) already has an account with this address. Sign in, or use reset your password if you have forgotten it.
- "Looks like you already have an account from our previous version." You used the older Document eSign app at some point, so instead of creating a duplicate we have emailed a link to set a password for the new app; it is valid for one hour, and the password you typed into the form is discarded.
- The sign-up form was replaced by a card naming another workspace. Your email domain is registered to that workspace. Join it, request access, or sign up with a different email to create a separate workspace.
- Google or Microsoft bounced you back to the sign-in page. You cancelled at the consent screen, or the provider could not confirm your email. Try again, or use the email form.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to create an account?
No. Sign-up asks for a name, a workspace name, an email and a password, and nothing else. Every new workspace starts on a free Business trial and drops to the Free plan when the trial ends unless you choose a paid plan. You are never charged without picking a plan yourself.
Can I sign up with a personal email address like Gmail?
Yes. Personal mail domains always create a fresh workspace of your own. The domain matching that offers to join an existing workspace only applies to company domains, so a Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo address is never routed into someone else's workspace.
How long is the 6-digit confirmation code valid?
Ten minutes from the moment it is sent, after which the screen tells you the code has expired. Click Send a new code (it becomes active after a 60-second countdown) and type the newest code you received, because each new code replaces the one before it.
I typed the wrong email address at sign-up. What now?
On the Check your email screen click Start over. That takes you back to the sign-up form so you can enter the right address. The mistyped address never receives a working code, and no workspace is left behind for it, so there is nothing to clean up.
Does Google sign-up create a separate account from my email sign-up?
No. Accounts are keyed on the email address. If you sign up with Google using an address that already has an account, and Google confirms you own that address, you are signed in to the existing account. There is no second workspace and nothing to merge.
