Command palette (Cmd+K) and mobile tips
Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K to jump to any page, document, template or signer. Plus how the app and the signing page behave on a phone.
Press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows anywhere in the app to open the command palette, then type part of a document name or a signer's email and press Enter. The same palette opens from the Search documents, templates box in the top bar.
Open the palette
-
Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K, or click the Search documents, templates box at the top of any page. On a narrow screen the box is a magnifying-glass icon.

-
With nothing typed, the Jump to group lists Dashboard, Documents, Templates, New envelope and Bulk send, followed by Recent documents and your first six templates. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click.
-
Start typing. Results regroup into Documents, Signers and Templates, each capped at six. Document rows show the status on the right, and template rows show how many roles the template has.

-
Press Enter on a result. Documents and signers open the document page, and templates open the template page. Esc closes the palette.
Typing a person's name or email finds the documents they were sent, because the search checks recipients as well as document names. The Signers group then lists the matching people from those documents, with the document name under each. It is the fastest way to answer "did we ever send anything to this person?"
Bulk send on Free and Growth opens the upgrade page rather than the bulk wizard, because bulk send is part of Business.
Switch workspaces from the top bar
The chip at the top left names the workspace you are in. If you belong to more than one, it is a dropdown: the Workspaces list shows each one with your role underneath and a tick on the active one. Pick another and the app reloads on that workspace's dashboard. Everything you see is scoped to that workspace, including contacts.

Admins on Business and above also see Create workspace at the bottom of the list. Everyone else with a single workspace sees a plain chip. Creating and managing workspaces is covered in Work in multiple workspaces.
Using the app on a phone
There is no separate app to install. Below 768 pixels wide the web app rearranges itself.
- Your sidebar becomes a drawer. Tap the menu icon at the top left to open it, and it closes on its own when you pick a page.
- Send for signature shrinks to a paper-plane icon at the top right, and Bulk send moves into the command palette's Jump to list (it leaves the top bar under 900 pixels).
- Everything works, but placing fields in the send wizard is far easier with a mouse. Upload and add recipients on the phone if you must, then place fields at a desk.
Signing on a phone
Most signers open their link on a phone, and the signing page is built for it.
- A bar across the bottom shows progress (3 required items, then 1 of 3 done) and a single button that walks you through, starting as Start signing and ending as Finish signing.
- Tap the progress text to slide up the fields panel and jump to a specific field.
- Your signature window opens full screen. Draw with a finger, or switch to Type or Upload. On a phone the confirm button reads Use instead of Use this signature.
- A three-dot menu at the right end of the bar holds Download document and Decline to sign, plus Forward to another signer when the sender allowed it.
If something goes wrong
- Cmd+K opens something else in my browser. An extension is claiming the shortcut. Click the top-bar search box instead, or change the extension's binding.
- The palette cannot find a document I know exists. It says No results when the document lives in another workspace, so check the chip at the top left. Try a shorter fragment of the name too. The palette waits for you to stop typing before it searches.
- A signer I searched for is missing. The palette shows the six best-matching documents and builds the Signers group from those, so a common name can push an older document out of view. Add part of the document name to narrow it, or search the Documents list for the full set.
- The app looks cut off on my phone. Pinch-zoom back to 100 percent; a zoomed page pushes the bottom bar off screen.
Frequently asked questions
What does the command palette search?
Documents by name, and the people on them by name or email. Templates match on name or description. Each group shows up to six results. With nothing typed it lists five jump targets plus your most recent documents and templates, so it doubles as a quick launcher for the pages you use most.
Does Cmd+K work on Windows?
Yes. The shortcut is Cmd+K on a Mac and Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux, from any page inside the app. If a text field has focus the shortcut still fires. There is also a search box in the top bar and a magnifying-glass icon on small screens that open the same palette.
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes, and no app is needed. The signing link opens in the phone browser with a full-width action bar at the bottom that walks you field by field, and the signature window fills the screen so you can draw with a finger. Sending and managing documents also works on a phone through the same browser.
Why do I not see a workspace dropdown?
The top-left chip becomes a dropdown only when you belong to more than one workspace, or when you are an Admin on Business or above and can create one. With a single workspace and no ability to add another, the chip is a plain label showing where you are.
